Long term goals: We want to interest more CS students in Hack UMass. In the past, it has been more systems/ECE oriented, and in the future, we’d like it to be more of an all-around hackathon. You can read more about Hack UMass at http://hackumass.com
We need volunteers for various jobs relating to Hack UMass. This is a great resume-building opportunity for volunteer work within the field of CS.
Inquiries about volunteering can be sent to kpgurney@umass.edu.We’re also talking about ideas for an outreach program. This program would teach teachers how to do intro classes in Scratch. You can read about Scratch, a programming language for kids at http://scratch.mit.edu.
